Healthy Footsteps - The Illey Walk
Walking …
• Doesn’t take up a lot of time
• Costs very little
• Can be participated in even if a person does not consider
themselves ‘sporty’
• Increases knowledge of local environment
• Is FUN
All you need is appropriate clothing and footwear and it is
advisable to bring a drink.
If walkers bring dogs, please ensure they are kept under control
and do not get under walkers feet. Please dispose of dog
waste appropriately.
Walks are graded: A = Hard, B = moderate, C = Easy
*** Walks will not take place in extreme
winter weather conditions ***
Healthy Footsteps for 50 Plus Programme - January to March 2013
Launched in March 2007, Age UK Dudley’s LEAP Over 50 Project's Health Walk programme offers regular weekly sessions for you to enhance your health,
rest and play.
This programme offers a variety of walks for many ability levels. We have weekend walks on this page; regular weekly walks on Wednesdays, which has a
page to itself; Mondays and Tuesdays (The Dell) sharing another page.
Wednesday (Coseley) walks and Monday (Mary Stevens Park) walks at the beginning of each month cater for new walkers and those with mobility problems
and time constraints.
Weekend walks generally cater for those who can manage up to 4 miles or more
Walks have been given grades of ease / difficulty on all days: A = Hard, B = moderate, C = Easy
Please note that Walk Leaders are not able to offer lifts to walkers due to insurance restrictions so could all walkers help each other out

Healthy Footsteps needs you .....
Could you join our team of walk leaders?
It doesn't have to be a huge commitment and would help spread the
load between our existing, fantastic team. Volunteering to become a
walk leader is very rewarding - you will receive training regarding the
benefits of walking, how to undertake risk assessments and completing forms and
registers together with support from the LEAP Over 50 Project.
If you would like to join the team, we would love to hear from you. Please contact
Maggie Thompson on 01384 343535 or email: [email protected]
