Karori bus services to Wellington College:
The following times have been notified by the Greater Wellington Regional Council effective
from the first day of term 2, May 5th. The earlier departures on two routes and the prompt
departure of the 741 will assist in getting our students to school on time.

Route 736 (ex Karori Mall) No change to 07:45am departure
•
Route 764 (ex Karori Park) Change to 07:55am departure (currently 8:05am)
•
Route 737 (ex Karori Park) No change to 07:55am departure
•
Route 736 (ex Gipps St)
Change to 07:55am departure (currently 8:10am)
•
Route 741 (ex Donald St)
No change to 8:10am. This bus often leaves 10 mins late.
The WRC have put in place a requirement that it leave on time at 8.10am. This should
ensure it makes the deadline at school. We will monitor this service to make sure the
students get to class on time.
The College appreciates the efforts that the Greater Wellington Regional Council has made
to address the School’s concerns regarding the morning services. The overloading problem
has been eased by providing larger buses and the GWRC are still investigating adding
another bus to the morning services. They advise that Go Wellington are having fleet
availability issues at the moment and they don’t know when they will be fixed. GWRC feel
that it’s not the right time to require an extra diesel bus in the am peak - when the company
is struggling to supply all the buses required for the current services contracted
