As a result of recent advancements in production technology subtle shade
variations can be achieved to create a distinctive and natural appearance.
The degree of variations in shade and finish may vary from tile to tile. This
is an intended effect, designed to enhance the aesthetic characteristics of
the tile itself. To illustrate this, a scale has been created to communicate the
degree of variation intended. The products fall within 4 categories:

Low – A more uniform appearance and minimal variation in shade from

distinctive pattern.
Random – Clearly distinguishable differences in shade, colour and
texture so one tile may have a totally different appearance from that on
