A Monthly Publication of the Portland Library
Thank you to all who participated in the library’s
recent survey. Approximately 200 responses were
received. I am happy to report that 100% of the
respondents were either satisfied or very satisfied
with service at the library. Work has begun on
addressing concerns and on formulating goals that
are responsive to our community’s needs. Thanks to
the Rivereast News Bulletin for informing the public,
and also to Library Board members who distributed
surveys, and to all departments that helped spread the
word. We appreciate your support! -Janet Nocek,
Library Director

"A
house without books is like a room
without windows. No man has a right to
bring up children without surrounding
them with books.... Children learn to
read being in the presence of books."
