Period of Suspension Policy Last reviewed: TBC Unless otherwise specified, any suspensions: Shall be served in the grade the offence was committed. Given as a number of matches shall mean 2 Day matches, or twice that number of 1 Day matches. Shall come into immediate effect. Shall mean that the player is not eligible to play in any WASTCA or WACA-affiliated match until the suspension is served. “Shall be served in the grade the offence was committed” means: the suspension lasts until after the required number of matches have been played by the team in which the player was playing when the offence was committed. Only finals for the grade in question count, regardless of the player’s eligibility for other grades. If the team has a bye, this will not count as a match. If the team forfeits so that no play takes place, this will not count as a match. If the opposition team forfeits so that no play takes place, this will count as a match. Although they are ineligible to play in these matches, Association, Colts & Twenty20 matches shall not count towards the number of matches served. If the club no longer has a team in that grade, the Executive Officer will nominate a substitute grade. For offences in Association, Colts, or Twenty20 matches, the Grade shall be deemed the most recent Saturday Competition grades the player has played in that season. If this cannot be determined, the Executive Officer shall nominate a Grade. “Given as a number of matches shall mean 2 Day matches, or twice that number of 1 Day matches” means exactly what it says, except for: Where a 1 Day match is played instead of a 2 Day match it shall count as a 2 Day match. Examples of this include the 1st fixture of the season for Divisions 3 & 4, and when lower grades play a 1 Day match instead of a Saturday/Sunday fixture. The Semi-Finals and Grand-Finals in the One Day Competition shall each be counted as a full match. The One Day Grand-Finals in Division 4 shall be counted as a full match. “Shall come into immediate effect” means: That an appeal does not stay the sentence. If the player is currently playing in a match he shall be allowed to complete that match and the length of the suspension will date from immediately after that match concludes. Additionally, the player will not be eligible to play in any further matches which start prior to conclusion of that match.
