Taxi Information at the Airport:
Many companies provide taxicab service at San
Diego International Airport. If you need a taxi, simply
follow the signs leading to the Transportation Plazas.
A Customer Service Representative will place you
with the first available taxi, unless you specify a
particular taxicab company.
Rental Car Information at the Airport
Effective, January 20, 2016, all car rental pick-ups and
drop-offs for rental car companies serving San Diego
International Airport will occur at the new Rental
Car Center. Free dedicated shuttle busses will run
continually to ferry customers between the airport
terminals and the Rental Car Center.
From LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT)
Exit the airport to I-10 East. Merge onto the I-15.
Continue on I-15 for approximately 95 miles. Merge
onto the 163 South at Miramar. Continue on the 163
South through Balboa Park. The freeway will become
10th Avenue when entering downtown. Continue on
10th Avenue approximately 6 blocks. Turn right on
Broadway. Turn left on Front Street which continues
onto Marriott Marquis parking lot.

Rental Car Information at the Airport:
Free shuttle service is provided for rental car
customers between the passenger terminals and the
Consolidated Rental Car center, where the on-airport
rental car counters are located. Off-airport rental car
firms provide transportation for customers between
the center and their offices. The center is located at
3450 E. Airport Drive, near Haven Avenue.
From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Exit airport to the 405 South Freeway. Merge with
the 5 South Freeway at Irvine. Continue on 5 South
to San Diego. Take the Front Street exit. Continue on
Front Street until you enter the hotel’s driveway Front
Street ends at the hotel..

Taxi Information at the Airport:
Taxis can be found curbside on the Lower/Arrival
Level islands in front of each terminal under the
yellow sign indicating Taxis. Passengers will be
presented with a ticket stating typical fares to major
destinations. Only authorized taxis with an official
seal issued by City of Los Angeles Department of
Transportation on each vehicle are permitted in the
airport. It is illegal for any transportation services to
solicit fares, and travelers using such services do so
at their own risk.

meet customers at the Remote Rental Car Depot at
the intersection of Century and Airport boulevards.

Important Registration and Cancellation Information
1. Hotel Rates and Cutoff:
The cutoff date for making reservations at the hotel
is April 26, 2017. It is important to make your hotel
reservations early. Call in your reservation at
1-800-228-9290 and ask for the AIPLA Spring Meeting
rate – $279.00 (single/double).
2. Registration:
Register by May 3 to be included on the participation
list (attendees registering after May 3 run the risk of
having to register again on–site). On–site registrations
will be accepted; however, please be prepared to pay
by check, cash or credit card. We DO NOT invoice for
any fees. Attendees must register for the meeting
if they wish to register for or attend social events.
Badges are required at all meetings and social events.

INTERNATIONAL REGISTRATIONS: If you submit
a registration via fax with credit card payment, do
not send a “confirmation copy” via mail as it may be
processed twice, and you may be billed twice. If you
are paying by check, please mail your registration.
You may fax (703) 412-1304 a copy of your check
and registration to account for possible foreign mail
delay. Payment for meeting registration must be in US
currency.
4. Spouses or Accompanying Guests
Must Register
Guests over 18 pay a guest fee of $150. There are
many opportunities for your spouse or guest to join
you throughout the meeting, as well as network
with and get to know the other spouses and guests
attending the meeting. The Guest fees include a guest
badge and access to all unticketed events, including:
the continental breakfasts, luncheon receptions,
morning and afternoon breaks, and access to a special

hospitality suite open during the posted meeting
registration hours and stocked with beverages and
snacks. This fee is intended for spouses and guests
attending the Spring Meeting who are not eligible
for AIPLA membership or who would not otherwise
attend the meeting for CLE purposes. This guest fee is
not available in lieu of paying the registration fee for
vendors requesting more than the allotted number of
exhibitor badges.
5. Purchasing Event Tickets On–Site
Events may sell out. Tickets on-site are sold on an “as
available” basis. Tickets will be collected at all food
functions and the spouse/guest tours.
6. Returned Check and Credit Card Fees
Registrations received that result in a returned
check or contain incomplete credit card information,
including omitted signature, omitted expiration date,
wrong number sequences, etc., will be charged a $35
fee for each instance.
7. Cancellation
Cancel by May 3, 2017 and receive a refund less a
$50 processing fee. Cancel between May 4 –10, 2017
and receive a refund less a $250 processing fee. No
refunds issued after close of business May 10, 2017.
Cancellations must be made in writing. Please mail or
fax — (703) 412-1304 — your cancellation in writing
to AIPLA, 1400 Crystal Drive, Suite 600, Arlington,
VA 22202. Any refunds will be processed after the
meeting.
CAUTION: If you duplicate your registration with
AIPLA, it is your responsibility to notify AIPLA in
writing after the meeting and request a refund. No
refunds will be given at the meeting site.
8. Registration Transfer:
Registrants may transfer their registration based on
the following:

Members may transfer their registration to other
members.
•
Non-members may transfer their registration to
other non-members.
•
A transfer from a member to a non-member will
incur an additional fee equal to the difference in
registration rates.
9. Photographs and Video
There will be photographs and video taken
throughout AIPLA’s 2017 Spring Meeting that will
be used in AIPLA print and electronic publications,
including AIPLA’s website.
