The Town of Long Lake
has received a $377,300 award
under the HUD Small Cities
funding program. This is the
first time these funds have
been awarded in Hamilton
County. Congressman David
O' Brien Martin's office
officially released the news
recently.
The funds will be used for
housing rehabilitation in three
target neighborhoods within
the town. About 50 houses are
expected to be repaired under
this program. Full grants and
matching grants will be
available to fix year-round
homes, based on household
income. Public meetings will
be held shortly to explain the
program.
John Hosley, Town of
Long Lake supervisor, stated,
"The Town of Long Lake is
elated. We are extremely
pleased to receive the grant
and look forward to the many
community improvements it
will bring about."
Warren-Hamilton Housing
Corporation, the not-for-profit
Rural Preservation Company
responsible for writing the
grant, will administer the
program.
