EXTERIOR DESIGN NX
HAS GOOD LOOKS,
GETS GOOD LOOKS.
The imposing, aggressively-sculpted NX body is rife
with splendid details thoughtfully included with style in
mind. Strong lines and protruding flares unite to the
diamond-shaped body that starts at the spindle grille,
while the presence of the tyres has been emphasised to
show off its powerful stance. The bottom of the door
panels kicks up to pass through the peak of the rear
combination lamp, creating unique proportions with a
three-dimensional and dynamic feel.

EXTERIOR DESIGN
LED REAR LAMPS WITH BRILLIANT DESIGN
Dynamic tail lamp design seamlessly integrates body lines
at the back of the NX with signature L-shaped illumination.
THE DOOR HANDLE, ELEVATED Even entry into the NX
is stylish; the door handles themselves are accented by puddle
lamps and an illuminated line that emphasises the silhouette of
the upper section. The key is inserted in a gap between the
handle and door panel to essentially create a keyhole-less
design (a first of its kind), followed by a graceful illumination
fade–out.
LED HEADLAMPS THAT TRULY SHINE The distinctive
L-shaped design expresses the Lexus signature in these LED
headlamps, which are separated from the daytime running
lamps. The high–clarity L-shaped LEDs with three units on each
side that symbolise Lexus.

AUDIO
The NX has an 8- and 10*-speaker audio
system fitted as standard. The audio system
has two USB ports for portable media players.
The AUX port is able to play video files through
the multimedia display screen.
DRIVE MODE SELECT
Located on the centre console next to the
gearshift, Drive Mode Select allows drivers to
choose between ECO, NORMAL, SPORT S
and SPORT S+** modes for maximising the
vehicle’s efficiency, dynamism and refinement.
ADVANCED VOICE RECOGNITION
Command recognition in the NX has been
greatly improved, thanks to the new dual
microphone system, Standard Voice Box®
and Nuance® voice-recognition technology
that employ integrated on-board/off-board
voice recognition.
VGA CENTRE MULTI DISPLAY
The 7-inch standard VGA Centre Multi
Display shares climate, audio, and navigation*
information. In an elevated location to
minimise changes in the driver’s line of sight,
the VGA display is operated by the Display
Audio*** controller or Remote Touch Pad
Interface*.
MULTIMEDIA
The well-crafted interior of the NX offers a
multitude of precise ways to monitor your
drive, starting with what’s right in front of the
steering wheel. The newly designed
combination meter displays temperature,
tachometer, speed and fuel, framed by a
striking silver-painted ring. Beside it is the
Multi-Information Display, a 4.2-inch Thin
Film Transistor LCD panel that displays key
driving information in vivid colour.
REMOTE TOUCH INTERFACE*
This touch-sensitive, next-generation Remote
Touch Interface seamlessly fits in the advanced
NX cockpit, to give you instant access to in-car
information including climate, navigation and
audio. The next-generation Remote Touch
Interface aims for smooth and smart-feeling
operation by providing a spacious touch
surface with focus given to providing a pleasing
texture and haptic feedback*.

TURBO-CHARGED METAL.
The Lexus Hybrid Drive system works in concert with the
Electronically Controlled CVT (Continuously Variable
Transmission) to environmentally upgrade your drive with
high fuel efficiency, clean emissions, and surprisingly
hushed quietness. All this without compromising on the
driving experience. The 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine
operates on the Atkinson Cycle and has highly-efficient
intake and exhaust systems to deliver optimal output
performance.
With its newly developed Lexus-first 2.0-litre 4-cylinder
direct injection turbo-charged engine, not surprisingly,
the NX 200t exhilarates as much as it accelerates.
Operating on the Atkinson Cycle, excellent fuel
efficiency and driving performance are achieved
simultaneously, while exhaust gas interference has
been eliminated to improve response over a wider
torque band.
The NX 200t has a new sequential-shift six-speed
automatic transmission paired with a sophisticated
electronically-controlled proactive all-wheel drive
system. Sequential shifting can be initiated via the gear
lever or paddle shifter on the steering wheel.
STOP START
Stop/start technology and exhaust heat recycling help
reduce fuel consumption and emissions. The wider range of
inlet timing variation in the VVT-iW system means that the
new NX engine can switch instantly from the Otto cycle to
the high-expansion ratio, high-efficiency Atkinson cycle,
according to vehicle operating conditions.

BOOST METER – LEXUS FIRST
The boost meter measures
turbo–charger pressure levels.
A white band has been adopted for
the graphic scale to match the
meter face. The band colour
changes in the high-pressure
range. An oil temperature gauge
and an oil pressure gauge are
displayed at the bottom of the
boost meter.
PERFORMANCE
Turbo-charged performance plus exclusive F SPORT features including an
F SPORT tuned suspension, bold front fascia with exclusive mesh grille,
black exterior mirrors, G-force, and turbo-boost meter that measures the
turbo-chager pressure.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)
SHIFT CONTROL
AI shift control selects the most
suitable gear for sporting driving, by
monitoring the status of the vehicle’s
G-sensor, with shifting selection
based towards the lower gears to
draw out the full potential of the
turbo–charged engine.
ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION (AVS)
Adaptive Variable Suspension, available on F SPORT models only,
provides 30 levels of adjustment to suit different conditions. The
operation of the AVS system depends on the Drive Mode Select
setting, with a higher level of control for dynamic handling
performance in Sport + mode.
HILL-START ASSIST CONTROL (HAC)
Hill-start Assist Control maintains brake pressure to help prevent
the NX from moving backwards when starting off on a slope.
Hill-start Assist Control also minimises wheel-spin on slippery
inclines.
VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL (VSC)
Vehicle Stability Control helps prevent the loss of vehicle control,
particularly when cornering quickly or at the onset of a skid.
Stability is improved and vehicle speed is lessened by the selective
application of brakes and/or power reduction.
TRACTION CONTROL (TRC)
Traction Control increases the NX’s ability to grip, especially
when starting off or accelerating on an uneven or slippery surface.
Corrective measures are applied the moment the risk of the
wheel–spin is detected, thereby maintaining traction.
LEXUS FIRST ECO TURBO ENGINE
The cylinder head has integrated exhaust manifold and twin scroll
turbo–charger (world-first combination) and the air-to-liquid
inter-cooler is directly mounted on the engine’s Atkinson cycle.
SOUNDLY SAFE.
The NX comes with eight airbags, standard fog
lights and cornering lights that help keep eyes on
the parts of the road that you may not normally see.

The Lexus Distance Plans are fully supported and
approved by Toyota SA Motors. The Lexus Distance
Plans are designed to give you, the motorist, a
value-added product that supports your needs by
containing motoring costs. Lexus Distance Plans
offer all customers access to service at any Lexus
dealership in South Africa and Lexus dealerships in
our neighbouring countries, i.e. Namibia, Lesotho,
Swaziland and Botswana.
The Lexus Distance Plans cover all your normal
operating condition services up to 4 years/100 000km.
All servicing must be carried out according to the
specified service intervals stipulated in the vehicle’s
Book of Life, to ensure that the Distance Plan and the
vehicles warranty remains valid.
All Lexus owners have an option to upgrade the
Lexus Distance Plans. Lexus offers our customers
various options in terms of choice of cover,
depending on individual requirements.
