February 24, 2016 Not to brag…but I will…about our terrific St. Pius X School students. They truly excel in all areas! This is evidenced by our eighth graders’ academic performance, as seen on the results of the JPII entrance exam. Five of our students performed so well, in fact, that they received $500 scholarships to the high school. Students, and teachers, are congratulated! A “shout out” to: Julia DiPreta John Rezendes Jack Lawson Alexa Ubertaccio Grace Kostecki On the court, the SPXS Crusaders Boys A Basketball Team completed their seasonundefeated! With a 13-0 record, the boys will begin the Cape Cod Super Six Tournament as the #1 seed. We could be experiencing our own form of “March madness” on the SPXS campus! Congratulation to all student-athletes who made a contribution to a terrific basketball season for all, including our eighth graders: Julia DiPreta Jack Lawson Joey Florio Caitlyn Marrs Kelsy Ganley Aveen O’Brien Mia Giannakoulis John Rezendes Sean Kilty We are all participating in a Tomorrow each child will receive a baby bottle to bring home and fill with change for Friends of the Unborn. Think of it as “change that can change a life.” Inside each bottle is a flyer from Friends of the Unborn which explains their mission of assisting mothers and babies. Fill the bottle over the next few weeks, and return to school by March 18th. Use this as a family project throughout the rest of Lent, to provide help to someone who needs it! May God bless each of you! Mrs. Anne Dailey Principal February 24, 2016 LOWER AND MIDDLE SCHOOL DRAMA INFORMATION Lower School Drama will held from 2:30 – 4:30pm on Monday, February 29th. The Gala and Auction is the School’s biggest fundraiser and we sincerely hope that you will attend! Tickets will be on sale next week for just $50 per person (if purchased before 4/15). This cost covers hors d’oeuvres, a delicious dinner, and live entertainment by Stage Door Canteen (featuring our very own Mr. G). This SPECIAL EVENING is not limited to SPXS families and we would love for you to bring your friends, family, and anyone who would enjoy an evening out. It is a nice opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate our school. If you cannot attend, please consider sponsoring a teacher or staff member’s attendance. It is an excellent way to give back to those who give so much to our children! We hope this year’s event will be a big success but we need YOUR HELP! If you own a business or know someone who would like to donate an item or a gift certificate, we would be so appreciative! No donation is too small! You would help the school AND advertise a business to the hundreds of guests that will attend. We also have sponsorship opportunities available for those who can and would like to do a little bit more. Our sponsorships range from $100-$1,000 and there are wide-reaching advertising benefits associated with these. Beyond being the biggest fundraiser for our school, this is also a special opportunity to connect with our extended SPXS family. It is always nice to see familiar faces and welcome new families into our fold. This event highlights our unity over the desire to create the best school we can for our children. The money we raise directly benefits them! There will be a raffle, a silent auction, a live auction, and a wine pull, with many fabulous auction items and opportunities to win! MANY people have gotten some AMAZING deals on exclusive items and others were able to purchase things at prices below retail due to the generosity of our donors and sponsors. So there truly is “something for everyone!” But even if you don’t leave with a “prize,” you will leave with the belief that you are sending your children to a school filled with people who CARE about them and that is Priceless! We appreciate your interest and generosity. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to support this event.
