The Project Manager/Quantity Surveyor Clúid’s Project Manager/Quantity Surveyor will manages all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. You will seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Many of these are specified by statutory building regulations, which the surveyor must understand and adhere to. This role is essential to Clúid as we progress into new build programmes and major regeneration works. The person will be an intermediary between the technical team, contractors and design and project management team. It will manage all tender processes alongside the Senior Architect/Design Team Lead and Contracts Manager. It may also manage some of the East Development programme. Role: Project Manager/Quantity Surveyor Role Overview: The PM/QS will project manage construction projects from the client’s cost point of view. Reporting to: Senior Architect/Design Team Lead Key responsibilities Project Management Sit on the New Business team as part of the Design Team to determine project goals, objectives and budget and work with the team to manage projects from initiation to completion. Assist the New Business Team in preparing individual project budgets and cash flow. Prepare cost estimates, pricing schedules, Bills of Quantities and carry out the role of Quantity Surveyor on construction projects when required. Liaise with the Finance Team in the management of projected cash flows for the New Business pipeline of projects Public Procurement Provide support to the team on all tender processes. This will involve in-house preparation of tender docs for consultants and contractors in accordance with the Capital Works Management Framework structure and managing the outsourcing of tender documents on larger projects Quantity Surveying Continually review scheme costs against the approved budget in advance of tender returns Ensure that the expected tender prices are in line with the proposed budget Evaluate tender returns from Consultants and issue appointment letters. Review contract claims and approve where necessary Evaluate value engineering submissions and comment on cost effectiveness Review interim valuations; assess contractor valuations and assess payment recommendations and certifications issued by the relevant Engineer/Architect Ensure project goals are achieved on cost, time and on budget and deal with any issues as they arise on site in conjunction with the design team.
