Ferofolic Drops
Each ml contains Iron (III) hydroxide polymaltose complex equivalent to elemental Iron 20 mg.
The general requirement in anemic patient is 10mg per day of which 1 mg is absorbed. The Iron
requirement doubles during pregnancy from 15-30mg per day.
Daily elemental iron is needed for the first 15 years of life to increase the total body iron from
0.5 grams (newborn) to 5gm (adult). To do so 0.8-1.5mg of elemental iron is needed daily (since
only 10% of elemental iron is absorbed from the diet through the jejunum, the daily elemental
iron requirement is 8-15mg daily).
IRON HYDROXIDE POLYMALTOSE
Iron hydroxide poly maltose complex is a water soluble, iron oxide. It is used in treatment of
latent iron deficiency and iron deficiency anaemia.The iron polymaltose complex has been
formulated in such a way that the elemental form is in a nonionic state. This ensures that there is
no gastric irritation with iron polymaltose complex. In addition, the high elemental iron content
of IPC eliminates the need for frequent dosing and therefore improves compliance.
Vitamin B12 is an essential water-soluble vitamin that plays an important role in supplying
essential methyl groups for protein and DNA synthesis.
Folic acid is used for preventing and treating low blood levels of folic acid (Folic Acid
Deficiency), as well as its complication, including ‘’tired blood’ (Anemia) and the inability of
the bowel to absorb nutrients properly.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
Ferofolic Plus Capsule
Adult: 1- 2 Capsules daily as recommended by the physician
Children: 1 capsule daily as recommended by the physician
Infant: As recommended by the physician
Presentation: 30 Capsules x 10 Blisters
Ferofolic Plus Syrup
Adult: One Tea Spoonfull ( 5 ml )two times a day
Children: Half Tea Spoonfull (2.5 ml) two times a day
