You can make this holiday season truly extraordinary for
some special community children and families enrolled in
1736 Family Crisis Center shelter and counseling programs in
Los Angeles, the South Bay, and Long Beach.
Many of our clients are women and children who are
unemployed and poverty-stricken due to the effects of
domestic violence. Others are young people who need assistance
to overcome personal or family problems that have landed them on
the streets. Most are in need of life’s basic necessities and all
require nurturing guidance, support, and encouragement to create a more promising
tomorrow. Without assistance, they won't be able to celebrate a traditional holiday
season with all the trimmings. But there is hope.

With the help of caring community partners like you, 1736 Family Crisis Center stocks
and operates two holiday stores open to clients only. These offer a
wide array of items from which children, teens, and adults can
choose a gift for themselves and family members – all at no cost to
them. Previous years' inventories have included sports equipment,
CD players and CDs, clothing of all types for people of all ages,
toys, dolls, board games and puzzles, jewelry, hats, shoes, clocks
and watches, books, computerized games, lotions and perfumes,
radios, hair care products and grooming aids, and other fun or practical items. Gifts for
teens are a special need and our Holiday Wish List offers some ideas for them and others.
Please consider a donation of cash, gift certificates, or new,
unwrapped gift items to help ensure holiday store “shoppers” the
joy of giving and receiving as they work hard to turn their lives
around. You can send your cash donation to our Los Angeles
community service center at the address below. You can drop off
donated items from now until December 16 at our Los Angeles
offices and our Redondo Beach community service center, located at 601 S. Pacific Coast
Highway. For help to organize a holiday stores gift drive, for more information, or to
