Stripe Hog Winterization Checklist

Stripe Hog Winterization Checklist
The Glycol winterization method utilizes Propylene Glycol-Based RV Antifreeze as opposed to using alcohol-based
antifreeze. (Use of alcohol-based antifreeze in your Stripe Hog which will destroy all rubber seals and o-rings inside the
system and should be completely avoided) You will use roughly 15 to 20 gallons (56-75 liters) of Propylene Glycol-Based
RV Antifreeze for a complete cycle.
Follow these steps for your winterization, in the order indicated:
1. Completely drain all Water Storage Tanks. i.e., Clean Water Tank and Debris Tank.
2. Remove the Spray Bar(s) and store securely
3. Pour 15 to 20 US Gallons of Propylene Glycol-Based RV Antifreeze into the clean water storage tank.
4. Position the truck so the antifreeze is available to the charge pump suction line.
5. Turn the charge pump on until you see undiluted antifreeze flowing through your blasting head(s).
6. Turn off charge pump and shut-down system
Restarting a Winterized System
1. You may want to recover as much of the antifreeze from the system as possible (to store for your next winterization)
before using your machine again.
2. Press the Start button so that the Dump Valve closes before you start the charge pump.
3. Position your blasting head(s) over a container that you will use for collection purposes.
4. Engage the Charge Pump according to Start-up procedures as normal.
5. Turn off the Charge Pump when the fluid coming out of the blasting head(s) runs clear.
NOTE: Before reusing Propylene Glycol-Based RV Antifreeze, check to make sure its freezing temperature is still below
the temperature you need protection for. During the process of evacuating the used antifreeze, it can be diluted thus losing
some of its protective properties. This will vary according to the Stripe Hog’s current environment.
NOTE: Remember to never pressurize a pump to more than 10,000 psi while the components are less than 60°
Fahrenheit/15° Celsius.
