Design Weeks 5-8- DT project Eiffel Tower Outcomes in Design The final outcome is to make a scale model of the Eiffel Tower from stixx. Investigate: Investigate: Research art movements in history. Take One Picture- Year 4 Topic Map Potentially invite and architect to talk to the classes. Analyse and Synthesise: Weeks 1-2- Artist study Research Claude Monet and complete a fact file about him. Investigate different structures made by Alexandre Gustave Eiffel. Investigate how towers and structures are made and reinforced. Art Analyse and Synthesise: How did the impressionists paint and why was different from Why is the Eiffel Tower so unique? previous art movements? Create and Develop: Test different shapes to see which ones can be built the highest. Create a painting in the style of impressionism. Analyse findings and create prototypes for design preferences. Communicate: Create and Develop: A mini art exhibition for parents. Write a caption about the picture.. Create mini Eiffel Towers in groups. Evaluate: Also a larger example for TOP museum made from stixx. Day to day evaluation of their work Communicate: Peer and self- evaluation. Show projects to parents in TOP museum, children to explain how they constructed the towers. Evaluate: Evaluate designs and constructions considering ‘What went Well’ and ‘EBI’ Outcomes in Art The children will have produced a fact- file on Monet following their research They will create works in an impressionist style.
