He will emphasise the importance of drawing skills as the basis of any pastel activity. Jamel is a well-known successful artist. He will demonstrate how he uses pastels and acrylics to produce movement in his work. Be prepared to be inspired! She works mainly with water colour and is known for her landscapes and life drawings. She will demonstrate how she develops her ideas from plein aire sketches. You will need sketching materials and your preferred medium. The cost of a model will be included. Mark Swan: Wax Sculpture: A user friendly medium for sculpture work. Mark is a popular visitor to FAS. His work is outstanding and he is known throughout the world. This time Mark will show us how he works with wax, a medium he uses a lot in his demonstrations. This is one not to miss. Deadline for entry to Annual Exhibition Mike Topham: 2D and 3D Wire Work Mike’s wire pictures are based on humorous things in everyday life and are often connected with phrases, sayings and memories. Copper wire is soldered to form the pictures. Mike will provide materials. 69th Annual Exhibition @ James Hockey & Foyer Galleries, UCA Farnham Subscription Renewal of £30 is due today Julia Cassels: Watercolour : Out of Africa. Local artist Julia is known for her loose and vibrant water colours. The rhythms and shapes of Africa are her source material. Her subjects include tribesmen and animals. Melanie Cambridge: Oils: Oils fast and loose. Melanie prefers to work plein air. Light and colour play a major role in her work. Water is her favourite subject and she will demonstrate how she uses oil to produce quick, loose scenes. Adele Goulty: 3D Clay Hand-Building Workshop Known for her pottery Adele will demonstrate a step by step process showing the skills used for a couple of hand building methods she uses in her work and how to create a form using simple design methods. Soraya French: Acrylic: Painting in the City. Soraya is known for her vivid colourful acrylic based multimedia and will demonstrate a step by step cityscape scene. AGM
