Dear Visitors, It looks like spring has finally arrived! Spring brings us

Dear Visitors,
It looks like spring has finally arrived! Spring brings us so many things:
sunny warm days, flowers in bloom, PPT’s and the end of the school year! As you
get ready to finish the last 8 weeks of school, be sure to take a moment to reflect on
all that you and the children you teach have accomplished this year. I think you will
realize how hard you have worked and be proud of all that was achieved.
Beginning in May, the Center staff will be busy winding down with our own
initiatives. Spring will bring us time to complete our research projects, complete our
CATI initiatives, conduct our last “Artism” class for the semester and complete our
final Sit for Autism and Saturday Seminar trainings. In June you will find us writing
our professional articles and reviewing the new DSM V criteria (to be released
sometime in May.)
As you reflect on this past school year and begin to plan for the 2013-2014
school year, remember that we are here to assist you in any way we can as you
continue to serve individuals with autism spectrum disorders. Our website will
continue to include new links to resources and notices of events that we endorse as
a professional Center that supports evidenced based practices for our children. Do
take a look at our guest writer of the month, Dr. Mark Groskreutz.. Dr. Groskreutz
has taken on the daunting task of clarifying ABA and all that it entails. I hope his
article sheds additional light on this often misunderstood concept.
Enjoy the last few weeks of the school year and thank you again for your continued
support, interest and involvement in our initiatives.
Warm regards,
Ruth Eren, Ed.D.
