Twido
Build a solution
to suit you
A new range of small, high-performance programmable
controllers, Twido stands out from other controllers with
its simplicity and modularity. Twido is the ideal controller
for small stand-alone installations or simple compact or
repetitive machines.
Compact and
modular bases
With Twido, it is simpler than ever to build your own solution. Twido
delivers the ultimate in machine control flexibility. Available in both
compact and modular bases, Twido offers the advantage of two
choices within a single product family. And both are programmed with
easy-to-learn, Microsoft-based software.
With Twido Compact, you get a complete controller, ready for use,
which includes the power supply, processor and I/O.
With Twido Modular you have one of the world’s most compact
controllers. The processor comes with a 24V-power supply and one
of the industry’s widest ranges of I/O.
Twido Modular or Compact – now you can customize your control
solution to exactly fit your application.
Right for your
application
Build your own Twido, using modules ranging from 10 to more than
200 I/Os point. Select 8, 16, 24 or 32 inputs, outputs or mixed channels.
You can also choose from a number of connection types: from screw
terminals, or connectors for rapid reliable wiring, to spring terminals.
Twido is flexible, adapting to meet all of your requirements!
Easy expansion
options
Twido is a controller with five basic models to suit the number
of I/Os point in your application. You can even expand the number of
I/O with one of the 18 expansion modules. A wide range of additional
option modules flexibility seldom seen in other small PLC platforms.
These options included memory EEPROM, HMI devices, real time
clocks, and additional communication ports.
A Twido base plus the expansions and options you need.
It’s your own custom solution.
Twido, the best option for expansion
With its wide range of options, you get the right amount of control
at an affordable price.
Simply determine what you need and only pay for that.

Twido
It’s easy as 1,2,3…
Get it your way
Combining simplicity and modularity, the Twido range has
been designed to reduce installation time and hassle.
Small in size,
but packed full
of features
You have three ways to order your first Twido. If you’ve never used
a PLC in your application, consider the Twidopack Basic.
Twidopack Basic contains a compact controller, complete Microsoftbased software for easy programming, and an electronic tutorial
program. For more advanced users, there is also Twidopack Advanced.
Twidopack Advanced contains a modular controller, additional option
modules, complete software, and a tutorial program. Designed for
everyone, from the beginner to the control systems expert, Twidopack
enables you to learn about Twido’s many features, wherever and
whenever you want quickly. For larger volume purchases, Twido
controllers and expansion modules can also be purchased
individually.
Just imagine
a stand-alone loop
controller, high-speed
counter, and 40 I/O,
all in a space no
bigger than your
business card!
Snap together
installation
Twido’s with its 40 I/O makes it easy to integrate into your installations.
It’s also easy to add expansions or options.
No special tools, screwdrivers, or additional cables, are required.
The Twido modules snap together and lock together with one push of
the locking mechanism. That’s all it takes to assemble a Twido.
Then simply fix your Twido on a DIN rail, or directly onto a mounting
plate.
Wiring to suit
you…
You can wire Twido with easy to use screw terminals (fixed or removable),
or choose the latest wiring innovations:
- Prewired solutions for rapid, reliable connection. Combine modules
with connectors and cables with flying leads for direct connection
to sensors/actuators. Or use Twidofast kits (cable + Telefast sub-base)
- Remote solutions for locating I/O or other controllers up to 50m
(164 ft) away, and at very low cost
- Or the new spring terminals, combining rapid wiring and guaranteed
clamping
Practical and
easy to learn
With its tutorial
CD-ROM, it is easy to
learn about Twido
whenever and
wherever you want.
This self paced training
module provides
a practical and
progressive learning
tool that makes it easy
for you to learn how to
automate your
application with Twido.
And the Microsoftbased software is just
as simple, making
programming a breeze.
Twido
belongs in your Control Panel
`
… it's compact, powerful and easy to wire. This combination reduces
panel space requirements. With the Twidofast prewired system you
save time and increase reliability. Spring terminals give you a combination
of rapid wiring and the assurance of a secure foundation.

Solving demading
machine applications
requires a large
number of I/O in
a small footprint.
Twido provides you
with high density I/O
modules with cables
to connect to Telefast
terminal blocks,
to with cables with
wiring that can be
connected directly to
machine components.
Configuration example:
A modular Twido I/O module with 104 I/O that can be connected
to Telefast terminal blocks, a 20 kHz high speed counter,
and 4 specialized I/O.
In the modular version,
Twido is capable of
handling a much
larger number of I/O
and data, significantly
extending the number
of applications it can
satisfy.

Configuration example:
A modular Twido with 50 I/O, two PWM outputs, three analog I/O,
a real-time clock, and an extension to 64 Kb of application memory.
