In the classic story of Cinderella, Cinderella can be seen as a round character because the
reader is told how Cinderella acts, looks, and thinks. When the story begins, Cinderella is “She
sang as she cooked and cleaned and never complained about her hard life.” (Balducci 4).
Cinderella has a positive attitude about all of the work she has to complete. By revealing to the

how she looks. “With another wave of her wand, the Fairy Godmother changed Cinderella’s
raggedy dress to a beautiful shimmering gown.”(Balducci 8). Cinderella’s ball gown is a
reflection of who she is on the inside. Lastly, Cinderella is a round character by her thoughts.
“Cinderella dreamed that someday the wishes dear to her heart would come true, and she would
find true love and happiness.” (Balducci 5). By revealing the desires of her heart to the reader,
the author continues to show how Cinderella is a round character. In summary, throughout the
entire story of Cinderella, the reader is able to grasp many details about who Cinderella is in
order to conclude that she is a round character.
