Rocking rocket
Short
This project is all about… This is a project
Description of
the Project
on rockets. How can we make our rocket fly.
1. Introduction
Why did you do the project?
We thought investigating rockets would be fun. We started this
project because we wanted to find out what will happen to our model
rocket.
What did you hope to learn?
We wanted to know….when rockets were invented and first used?
We used these ‘key questions to investigate
·
what is a rocket?
·
how a rocket is built ?
·
How much fuel does a rocket need?
·
what will happen to the rocket?
Main information about Rockets:
These are our main findings:
What is a rocket?
A rocket is usually cylindrical in shape that can be put into the air to a
great height or distance. Sometimes rockets are used as fireworks or
distress signals. Rockets can come in different sizes. the
largest rocket is 149 feet high and 12 feet wide ( half the
length of a football field)
How does a rocket work?
It usually uses a mixture of fuel and oxygen to move. Jet airplanes and
space rockets work on a principle called ‘action and reaction.
like a jet airplanes space rockets on a principle called action
and reaction . The massive force generated by hot gases
firing backwards from rockets engines .produces equal force
that pushes the rocket forward through space.
A key advanced invention of first liquid fuels rocket in 1926
by the American. Robert Godderdin Auburn.
Rocket Fun Facts:
A typical rocket produces more than a million pounds of thrust that
allows it to carry more than 6,000 pounds. It can travel at speeds of
more than 15 times faster than a speeding bullet.
the world's largest solid rocket at 149 high and 12 feet high it was
half the length of a football field
Conclusions –
What did you learn about Rockets?
Rockets have been around since the 9th century. We
have seen how much they have changed and become
better. They can go a longer distances and they can go
faster. Rockets have been used for a lot of different
missions
We learned that rockets are cool and fun to learn about.
What key discoveries did you make?
● We discovered that there are many different types of
rockets
● We discovered about the difference between the first
rocket ever made and the most recent
● We discovered how rockets work. action and reaction
What did you enjoy most while doing the project?
Working as a team
Having fun - making a rocket.
Finding out information that we knew before.
Creating posters to display. .
Acknowledgements - at the end of your report acknowledge
