THESGALA Dairy Cooperation
The Cooperative
The Cooperative “THESgala- PIEs” was set up at the end of 2010, thanks to the vision and
continuous efforts of a group consisting of dairy farmers. In a short time, due to hard work
and strong desire of its members, it has become the first exemplary cooperative of cow milk
production that was established in our country. The creation of “THESgala- PIEs” justified the
efforts of its members to approach the cooperative concept in another way. Under the
central slogan “We cooperate in a different way”, the Cooperative “THESgala- PIEs” seeks to
defend the interests of its members combining the provision of high-quality milk to
consumers and fair prices worthy of the surplus value of the final product. The constant
growth potential of the Cooperative confirms the emotional investment of its members.

120 tons per day, a quantity that represents 10% of the domestic production.
The Cooperative ' ThESgala " managed to develop a wide network of collaborations with
some of the largest companies in the dairy industry. As a result of collaborations is the
favorable quality of milk and ensuring quality feed.
The Cooperative nowadays has 15 stores with vending machines in the city of Larissa and 13
stores in Thessaloniki.
The Cooperative “THESgala- PIEs” consists of a range of specialized executives who support
the members at every stage of milk production. A dynamic group of scientists, composed of
veterinarians,
agronomists,
economists,
lawyers,
accountants,
management
and
communication experts, is at the disposal of producers in order for products of the
cooperative to meet the high operational requirements of the market. Finally, the
Cooperative “THESgala- PIEs” benefits from a broad network of external collaborators,
characterized by high education level and extensive experience, which supports it, whenever
necessary.
The innovation of THESGALA cooperation
Automatic milk vending machines of new technology were installed, for the first time at
panhellenic level, in the neighborhoods of Larissa and Thessaloniki. Every day the
cooperation offers fresh, pasteurized and most of all safe milk of good quality, which is
collected by farms owned by the members of the Cooperative. This milk is pasteurized at
modern and certified facilities and it reaches directly the tanks of the automatic vending
machines. It is a closed system that does not allow the milk to have any contact with the
outside environment, which means that it retains as many of its nutrients as possible. The
consumer chooses the desired quantity, 1 or ½ liter, and packaging, glass reusable or singleuse plastic bottles. The consumer is able to use his own bottle by taking the responsibility for
respecting all hygiene conditions.
