Lemonade Day Michigan June 6, 2015 Get Involved Lemonade Day is about providing kids of all ages the opportunity to EXPERIENCE entrepreneurship by planning, starting, owning, and operating their own business: a lemonade stand! Help spark a dream! Lemonade Day Michigan │ June 6, 2015 │ Michigan.lemonadeday.org │ [email protected] What is Lemonade Day? Lemonade Day is a national experiential learning program that inspires entrepreneurism and teaches youth not only how to start their own business by operating a lemonade stand, but also fundamental lessons about life, success and themselves. Children, along with an adult mentor, register to participate and receive all the necessary educational materials free of charge. But like any new business, children must find investors to provide start-up funding for their businesses. Working alongside their mentors, children go through 14 lessons including product development, business planning, establishing pricing, marketing their business, etc. With their profits, the young entrepreneurs are encouraged to “spend a little” on themselves as a reward for their hard work; to “save a little” for the future; and to “share a little” with the community that supported their business by giving to a charitable organization of their own choice. Financial support from businesses, service organizations and community members ensures the program is free to participating children.
