The Portsmouth Herald, Foster’s Daily Democrat,
Exeter News-Letter, Hampton Union, The York
Weekly, York County Coast Star, Rochester Times
and Sanford News will provide all families with a
100-word standard obituary FREE OF CHARGE.
This standard obituary should include the name of
the deceased, age, address, date of death and birth
and names of immediate family members, whether
they survive or are deceased.
A standard obituary does not include details about
funeral services or memorials.
If families want to share more information about
their loved ones than fits in a standard 100-word
obituary, they may do so at a cost of $1.50 per word
beyond the 100-word limit for the Portsmouth
Herald, Foster’s Daily Democrat, Exeter NewsLetter and Hampton Union, and $1.00 per word
above limit for The York Weekly, York County
Coast Star, Rochester Times and Sanford News
and $1.95 per word above the limit for Seacoast
Sunday.
The cost of listing services is $75 for up to 75
words in any daily or weekly publications and
$97.50 for up to 75 words in Seacoast Sunday.
There will be an additional charges if the services
listing appears in another paper or edition.
The death notice will include only name, age,
address and date of death, as well as details
about calling hours, funeral or memorial service,
interment, suggestions for memorial donations
and the funeral home’s name and address.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of
Portsmouth; son Jack and his wife, Kathy,
of Kittery, Maine; daughter Lynn Racine of
Sarasota, Fla.; son Matthew and his partner,
Bill, of York, Maine; daughter Pamela and
her husband, Carl Goodman, of Stratham;
and son Robert of Boston, Mass.; 11
grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his siter, Muriel
Doe Johnson.

organizations, including being founder and
past president of the Mount Agamenticus
Chowder and Marching Society in York
Beach, Maine, and past president of the
Federal Employee Veterans Association,
Wentworth PTA, and the Nation
Association of Government Employees at
the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. he was
also a lifetime member of the Kittery/
Eliot Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eliot
American Legion Post 188. he was a 40year communicant of St. Raphael Parish in
Kittery.
He enjoyed being a musician,
entertaining many fans.

be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, April

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may
be made in his memory to the York Hospital
Friend Raising Program, 15 Hospital
Drive, York ME 03909. Arrangements are
entrusted to the Smith Funeral Home of
Kittery.
