Dear Parents and Community Members, While we are quickly approaching the end of the school year, it is easy to get caught up in all of the events that are taking place. This past week we hosted performances of musical and artistic talents, along with some athletic talents as well. It is evident that our students work very hard at their crafts, and I would like to thank them for displaying these for the community. With all of this going on, we also had another family whose mother has undergone some recent medical procedures and she wished for me to share her words of appreciation for the support that all of you have displayed towards them. "Words can not express the gratitude I feel from the Eastwood Athletic Department Track and Field Team for their very generous donation to the sudden illness that I have incurred just shy over the past two weeks. As you may or may not know I have three beautiful children, Ajay (first grade), Jessica (sophomore), and Alysa (senior) that all attend Eastwood Schools. Mild headaches settled in over the past few months to become a life threatening illness for me of a major brain tumor. As of today, the tumor that was removed last week is being retested at the Mayo Clinic for confirmation of where we go from here for treatment. I am a very private individual and have never expected for any help or assistance from anyone. It is just amazing in my eyes of all of my friends and family that have been so supportive and loving through this rough time in my life. I have three babies and my goal is to never give up. I will fight . . . . I will win this! They all need me here and I need to be with them!!! Can you please assist me in reaching out to everyone who has been so supportive emotionally, with prayers, finanacially, and been here for my family. It means so much more than any of you will ever realize. If there is anyway you can kindly forward, attach, etc. my email out to all parents on your email list in the school district, I would feel very appreciated towards you. I want everyone to know how much I greatly appreciate their love and support. Thank you so very much! With all my love, Amy Rice" Amy is the mother to two of our High School students and they have endured an emotional roller coaster over the recent weeks. Unfortunately, a number of our students have encountered the loss of a parent this school year, but Amy is determined to win and has the positive attitude to help her succeed. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers, and also those students who have endured similar situations this school year. Ultimately, while it is easy to get caught up in everything else that is taking place, always set aside some time for the one's you love and treasure those moments.
