(pg94-96) - CHECK your answers with the attached answer key. Brief Summary: We saw today that there are three forms of present tense: Normal, light and lightest. All the present tense fi'ls in the present tense chart on page 82 are normal. In order to make a present tense light (mansoob), we will do the following (see page 89) 1) Don't mess with the group of women! The هنand أنتنwill not be changed. 2) If the fi'l ends in a dhamma change it to a fat-ha. 3) If the fi'l ends in an extra نthen remove the ن. We learned the list of harfs on page 90 that will cause a present tense to be light. Generally there will not be a long distance relationship between these harfs and the present tense fi'l, although the effect can be extended by a connector as we saw in class. We then looked at how to make a present tense fi'l lightest (majzoom) (see page 92) In order to make a present tense lightest, we will do the following: 1) Don't mess with the group of women! The هنand أنتنwill not be changed. 2) If the fi'l ends in a dhamma change it to a sukoon. 3) If the fi'l ends in an extra نthen remove the ن. We learned a list of harfs on page 92 that make the present tense lightest. Generally there will not be a long distance relationship between these harfs and the present tense fi'l, although the effect can be extended with a connector. Inshaa Allah we'll continue practicing with light and lightest harfs in the next class. -Bayyinah Access Online Part-time Studies, Full-Time Results
