• Simply open the screw-top cap and allow natural essential oil or
fragrance vapors to enter the air. When you are finished, screw
the lid back on until your next use.
• While people typically open the Essentalia Aromatherapy and
Fragrance containers only when they want to use them, this new
system is also designed to release essential oil vapors into the air
continuously for up to 30 days, making it the most efficient and
economical way to experience aromatherapy benefits.
• If the Essentalia Aromatherapy and Fragrance containers are
opened periodically they can easily last 6 months or longer.
• Unlike essential oil diffusers each Essentalia Aromatherapy or

Why our Products are Better than any in the Marketplace…
• We use an entirely oil-based process, there are no water, alcohol, phthalates, formaldehyde, acetone,
glycol ethers or other carrier compounds added.
• Most solid-based air fresheners available in the market use a water-based system with guar or xanthan
gum that are natural biopolymer thickening agents. There are three problems with these natural gums:
1) Guar and xanthan gums are very biodegradable and quickly spoil by mold or bacteria. This requires a bactericide and a moldicide
be added to the formula to prevent spoilage. For example a major manufacturer of solid air fresheners contain the biocide, Kathon
CG-ICP which is a mixture of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one. The volatility of these
compounds is in the range of aromatherapy and fragrance compounds and can enter the air from air fresheners. According to the
manufacturer of Kathon CG-ICP, these compounds can evaporate and enter the air where the “vapor or mist may cause irritation of
the upper respiratory tract (nose and throat) and lungs”;
2) Solid air fresheners made with guar and xanthan gums are almost entirely water and contain only a very small amount of
fragrance oils (water and oils do not mix). This is why these products do no give off a strong scent, do not last long, cannot be used
as an aromatherapy product and are very inexpensive (you are buying almost all water);
3) The evaporation of volatile organic compounds from air fresheners or aromatherapy products is what causes them to give off a
fragrance and therapeutic compounds. The evaporation of volatile organic compounds from a water-based system is much lower
and slower than from an oil-based system.
• All Essentalia Aromatherapy and Fragrance Air Freshener Discs contain no water and therefore do not
require the use of any biocides or moldicides.
• All Essentalia Aromatherapy and Fragrance Air Freshener Discs are oil-based, require no cosolvents, and
we can add up to 50% oils to our products to make them last longer and provide a stronger scent.
Comparison to Fragrance Candles..
 ISSUES WITH CANDLES:
1) According the National Candle Association, “Consumers are increasingly purchasing candles as a focal point for
their home décor, and for aromatherapy-like relaxation and stress reduction.”
2) When wax is mixed with essential oils or fragrance oils to make scented candles, the scent generated is minimal
because of the decrease in volatility of the essential oil and fragrance compounds by the wax.
3) The ratio of essential oils and fragrance oils to wax is low.
4) Candles are inherently dangerous. In the2007-2011 period, U.S. fire departments responded to an average of 10,630
home structure fires that started by candles per year, in which there were an annual average of 115 civilian fire deaths,
903 civilian fire injuries, and $418 million in direct property damage (National Fire Protection Association 2013).
5) When candles burn, they produce soot and can destroy or transform compounds responsible for aromatherapy and
fragrances, therefore they are mostly ineffective for aromatherapy and have limited fragrance potential.

Comparison to Air Fresheners..
 ISSUES WITH AIR FRESHENERS:
1) Phthalates can be associates with spray, aerosol and heated oil air fresheners, as well as the presence of
formaldehyde, parabens, petroleum distillates, propellants, acetone and ρ-dichlorobenzene.
2) All solid (gel) air fresheners in the market today are water-based and require biocides and moldicides to prevent
spoilage. These compounds are in the same volatility range as fragrance compounds and can enter the air when used.
3) All solid (gel) air fresheners have a very limited potential for aromatherapy (a significant new market driver for air
fresheners) because they are water-based and limit the amount of essential oils that can be added.
4) Public Health England’s Center for Radiation, Chemical and Environmental Hazards found that plug-in fresheners
contain “considerable levels of formaldehyde,” which can cause nose and throat cancer.
