PBC Linear to Exhibit 3DP Unlimited Printer at ATX West
Large-format 3D Printer Utilizes PBC Linear’s Advanced Mechatronics
Roscoe, IL – February 9, 2015 – 3DP Unlimited, a leading manufacturer in industrial-class largeformat 3D printers, has been chosen by PBC Linear as a comprehensive demonstration of the
company’s linear motion applications at the ATX West Show in Anaheim, February 10-12. For the
past 30 years, PBC Linear has been a world-leading developer and manufacturer of advanced
mechatronics and linear motion solutions for a broad range of applications.
Exhibiting at the PBC Linear booth will be 3DP Unlimited’s flagship printer, the 3DP1000. The
3DP1000 is an open-platform, large-format 3D printer, whose print area of 1000mm x 1000mm x
500mm is 74 times larger than the average desktop 3D printer. The industrial-class quality of the
3DP1000, which retails for roughly one tenth of the price of other 3D printers its size, is enabled
by PBC Linear’s advanced mechatronics technology and linear motion solutions.
“When we first started building the 3DP1000, we knew we didn’t want to make another ‘me too’
product,” said John Good, VP of Sales at 3DP Unlimited. “We knew how saturated the 3D printing
market was becoming, and we knew the demand for 3D printers that are high in quality, yet low in
cost, would be enormous. That’s why we went to PBC Linear. We recognized their expertise in
creating robust linear actuators, and saw how their technology could be perfectly applied to build
a large 3D printer of the highest structural integrity. We really relied on PBC to help us design
everything – the bearings, the drive, the motor, even the controls.”

stepper motor manufacturer, in November of last year, chose to showcase the 3DP1000 at ATX
West as a standout example of the company’s expertise in creating complete mechatronics and
linear motion solutions.
