Golden Plains Credit Union wants to see you

$500 scholarships for our members.

Scholarships are available to Golden

Plains Credit Union members, who are
enrolled in or who plan to enroll as a full-time
student at a university, junior college, or trade school
in the fall.
Scholarship application forms are available at all GPCU locations. Or
you can apply online at gpcu.org. If you apply online, you will need to
mail your 2 letters of recommendation, along with your school transcript to
the location at which you are a member by March 15th.
The deadline for applying for a scholarship is March 15th. All applicants
will be notified in writing of the decision of the Scholarship Committee.
Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than May 15th. An application
must be submitted each year to be considered for a scholarship.

Managing your Golden Plains’ VISA credit card has never been easier. When you visit our web site at gpcu.org,
click on the ‘Access your VISA Online’ button located on the upper right side of the homepage. It will take you to
the ‘gotomycard’ web site. Once you are registered, you can:
• Make a payment.
• Have access to current transactions.
• View past credit card statements.
• Sign up for e-statements.
Don’t have a Golden Plains VISA credit card yet? You can apply online at gpcu.org and click on the
‘Applications’ tab at the top. At Golden Plains, we have a credit card just for you! Our low-interest credit cards
have no annual fee and no over the limit or balance transfer fee. Our cards are handled locally so you can simply
drop off your payment at one of our locations or call us with questions.

Beating the Winter
Consider these ideas for curbing
seasonal blues
Occupy yourself at home.
Turn off the TV and other electronics and find
something creative or constructive to get into.
Join a club, take a class or organize an event.
Research your options in your community. Winter is a great time to learn a new skill or sharpen existing ones. Busy
yourself organizing an event. How about an auction or an indoor yard sale to raise money for a local cause? Not
only will it help raise funds, but it will also help recycle unwanted items.
Volunteer your time and services.
Kansas is currently ranked #8 in volunteer rate. Visit volunteerkansas.org to find
lots of opportunities.
Give yourself something to look forward to.
Spring break mini vacation? A much needed night out? A new movie
premiere? Any event, no matter how small, can keep you from sinking into
the winter blues.
Do a little dance.
Whether it’s exercising, dancing or anything – does a brain good. Physical
activity that really gets your blood pumping not only helps you feel better
physically, but it also helps curbs symptoms of anxiety and depression,
relieve stress, boost self esteem and sleep better.
