Unmixing colours
You can mix colours together to make other colours, but did you
know you can unmix them too?
You will need:

Scissors
Thick kitchen roll
Different coloured washable felt pens
Small glass with some water in
What to do:
1. Carefully cut a piece of kitchen roll into 4 equal squares.
2. Draw a circle in the middle of one square using just one felt pen.
3. Carefully dip your finger into the water and then touch the middle of
your piece of kitchen roll.
4. Watch what happens as the water soaks into the paper.
5. You might need to dip your finger again and touch some more water
onto the paper.
6. As the water soaks past the pen it should unmix – separate –
all the colours that the pen maker mixed together.
7. Do this again in the other squares with different coloured pens.
