Globe On Screen
English National Opera
By William Shakespeare
The most significant British opera in over two
centuries, Benjamin Britten’s Peter Grimes is a
work of visceral and sustained beauty, and is
notable for the orchestral interludes that depict
the sea in different moods.
Cause Film Festival allows film makers and
charitable organisations to share their messages
through the art of film and entertainment. The public
can join film makers in their journeys and learn
about the issues of the world.
This is the first revival of David Alden’s 2009
five-star sell-out production. English National Opera
Music Director Edward Gardner again conducts the
electrifying score, with Stuart Skelton heading an
outstanding cast in his return to the title role.
It will be a fun and entertaining night with awards,
great films and a VIP networking event.
THE TEMPEST
PETER GRIMES
Prospero, Duke of Milan, usurped and exiled by
his own brother, holds sway over an enchanted
island. When Prospero raises a storm to wreck
this perfidious brother and his confederates on
the island, his long contemplated revenge at
last seems within reach. Imbued with a spirit
of magic and the supernatural, The Tempest
is Shakespeare’s late great masterpiece of
forgiveness, generosity and enlightenment.
Starring Olivier Award-winning Roger Allam
(The Thick Of It ) and Colin Morgan (BBC’s Merlin).

THE GOONIES
êêêê
Mikey and Brandon Walsh are brothers whose
family is preparing to move because developers
want to build a golf course in the place of their
neighbourhood, unless enough money is raised to
stop the construction of the golf course, and that’s
quite doubtful.
But when Mikey stumbles upon a treasure
map of the famed “One-Eyed” Willy’s hidden
fortune, Mikey, Brandon, and their friends, calling
themselves The Goonies, set out on a quest
to find the treasure in hopes of saving their
neighbourhood. The treasure is in a cavern, but the
entrance to the cavern is under the house of evil
thief Mama Fratelli and her sons. Can the Goonies
find the treasure and save the day? Remember
Goonies “never say die.”
