The selected course must be consistent with the student's level of study. 3 Total Hours Sign-offs from other departments affected by this proposal None 35 Rationale - Change from 36 to 35 hours: Grammar content taught in Spanish 3210A and 3211A (1 credit), will be integrated into other 3000-level courses, eliminating the need for a specific one-credit grammar course. - Elimination of Spanish 2172A, 2180A, and 2199A: Grammar content will be integrated into Spanish 2172 and 2180, which will each now be four-credit hour courses. This change will permit a more effective incorporation of grammar into the curriculum. - Elimination of Spanish 2199 as a replacement of Spanish 2180: Since this is an intensive two-week course that is offered abroad, it is not reasonable to increase the credit hours from three to four. However, students may choose to count the course towards the major as one of their electives (see below). - Electives: We wish to give students the option to take one of their electives at the 2000-, 3000-, or 4000-level.
