Rationale
- Change from 36 to 35 hours: Grammar content taught in Spanish 3210A and
3211A (1 credit), will be integrated into other 3000-level courses, eliminating the
need for a specific one-credit grammar course. - Elimination of Spanish 2172A,
2180A, and 2199A: Grammar content will be integrated into Spanish 2172 and
2180, which will each now be four-credit hour courses. This change will permit a
more effective incorporation of grammar into the curriculum. - Elimination of
Spanish 2199 as a replacement of Spanish 2180: Since this is an intensive two-week
course that is offered abroad, it is not reasonable to increase the credit hours from
three to four. However, students may choose to count the course towards the
major as one of their electives (see below). - Electives: We wish to give students the
option to take one of their electives at the 2000-, 3000-, or 4000-level.
