Team FaSTTUBe
In 2014, FaSTTUBe, the Formula Student Team of the Technical University of Berlin, is building its ninth race car.
In 2009 we started the design concept “visible technology” that made us unique in Formula Student. This concept using transparent
polycarbonate panels allows spectators to see interesting design solutions of the car (e.g. the moving steering gear) as well as the
activities of the driver while driving. To improve the performance of the car we are focusing on lightweight design, with 166kg we
built the second lightest car with tubular steel frame in 2013’s Formula Student Germany competition.
This year, 42 team members from many different subjects, mechanical and automotive engineers, electrical, technical and even civil
engineers and economics students to name but a few, try to improve the car’s performance to get into the Top10 of German FS Teams
in the world rankings.
