"My congratulations and very
best wishes for your success."
DEAR FELLOW DEMOCRAT:
There is a special reason why you will want to vote for Franklin
D. Ro~se~elt, Jr~, for Congress on May 17th, but perhaps you have
not heard the inside story. This is it.
A small, selfish, high-handed group in Tammany has tried to block
Roosevelt's nomination. They have arrogantly tried to do your
thinking for you. While they have kept his name off the Democratic
line, it will appear on other lines on the voting machines. The
Democratic Party belongs to all Democrats, not just a few who are
thinking only of themselves.
We are Democrats, regular Democrats. We believe in the principles
of our Party. Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jr. is a Democrat and we
don't have to tell you that. He is a leader in his own right and
has consistently fought for President Truman's Fair Deal Program.
