NOTICE OF LAST DAY OF REGISTRATION FOR THE PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 2, 2016 ONEIDA CHARTER TOWNSHIP PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that an election will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016. The last day to register for the election is Tuesday, July 5, 2016 by 5:00 pm. Persons residing in ONEIDA CHARTER TOWNSHIP, registering after the deadline will not be eligible to vote at the election. Voters may register by mail using a mail-in voter registration form or in person at a Secretary of State Branch office or the Eaton County Clerk’s office, or Oneida Township Clerk’s office. PERSONS ENTITLED to be registered voters in the Oneida township must possess the following qualifications on or before the day of the Primary Election: (1) a citizen of the United States; (2) not less than 18 years of age; (3) a resident of the State of Michigan and the local municipality for not less than 30 days prior to the Election (MCL 168.492). In addition, qualified electors must be registered to vote not less than 30 days prior to the Election (MCL 168.497). FOR THE PURPOSE OF electing candidates of the Republican Party and Democratic Party seeking nomination to the following partisan offices are to be voted for in Eaton County: U.S. Representative in Congress 7th District, State Representative 65th District (Townships of Brookfield, and Eaton), State Representative 71st District (balance of Eaton County), Prosecutor, Sheriff, Clerk and Register of Deeds, Treasurer, Drain Commissioner, County Commissioner, Township Supervisor, Township Clerk, Township Treasurer, Township Trustee, Precinct Delegates.
