IN
BRISTOL
from 13 April 2014
Service 5: Centre – Emersons Green
Following a review of Services 4 and 5 there are significant changes to the route
and timetable of Service 5 while Service 4 is withdrawn.
Changes to the route mean buses will now serve Bromley Heath and Emersons
Green. There will also be an increased frequency, with a bus every 20 minutes
Monday to Saturday daytime.
Service 17: Southmead Hospital – Keynsham
This new service will provide an enhanced replacement for Service 507 (currently
provided by another operator) which will no longer run. It will link Southmead
Hospital and Keynsham via Fishponds, Hillfields, Kingswood and Hanham.
Buses will operate every 30 minutes between Southmead and Kingswood with
every other bus continuing to Keynsham.
There will be more opportunities to travel to Southmead Hospital with additional
early morning, evening and Sunday/Public Holiday journeys. Service 17 will not
serve Lockleaze but Service 24 provides an alternative service from Lockleaze to
Southmead Hospital.
Service 18: Emersons Green – Henbury
The route of this service is changing following customer requests and to
coincide with the expansion of Southmead Hospital. Between Filton Church and
Southmead Hospital buses will now operate via Gloucester Road North and
Filton Road providing new direct links to the hospital.
Additionally the service is being extended beyond Southmead to Henbury via
Westbury, Shirehampton and Lawrence Weston and will operate up to every 30
minutes Monday to Saturday daytime.
Service X18: Kingswood – Aztec West
The X18 will now provide four morning and four afternoon journeys in each
direction. Following feedback from customers all journeys will now go to and
from Kingswood, whereas currently a number only operate to and from
Emersons Green.
Departure times of the busiest journeys remain largely unchanged. The service
will now take a revised route around Aztec West.
Service 20: Southmead – Centre
Following feedback from residents and local councillors Service 20 will go back
to its previous route serving Clare Avenue, Kings Drive and Bishop Road.
Service 24: Southmead Hospital – Ashton Vale
To better match our resources to customer demand there are significant changes
to Services 24 and 25. Service 24 will double in frequency to every 10 minutes
(Monday to Friday). All journeys will be extended to Southmead Hospital with a
slight change to the current route in Horfield.
Service 25 is being withdrawn with Service 5 providing alternative journeys for
some sections of route not served by Service 24.
Service 42: Centre - Keynsham and
Service 43: Centre – Cadbury Heath
The route of both of these services will be changing in the Cadbury Heath area.
The changes are being made to provide additional journey opportunities to the
most popular stops in the area. Customers are advised to check the new
timetables carefully before travelling.
There are also some small changes to the timetables plus a number of new
journeys have been added to Service 43. These include a new 0400 journey
following the increasing number of people using the night services.
Service 44: Centre – Kingswood and
Service 45: Centre – Longwell Green
On Saturdays both of these services will now have a bus every 20 minutes. On
the common section of route with Services 42 and 43 there will now be a bus
every 5 minutes. Service 45 will also benefit from some additional journeys on
Monday to Friday at peak times.
Service 309/310: Bristol – Thornbury
Some off-peak journeys between Bristol and Cribbs Causeway are withdrawn
however the service will continue to operate every 30 minutes throughout the
day Monday to Saturday.

Service X9/X10: Bristol – Nailsea
There are a number of minor changes to the X9 timetable and customers are
advised to check before travelling. A new service X10 is also introduced
operating the same route as X9 but via Long Ashton rather than the Long Ashton
by-pass.
The X10 has been introduced following customer requests and is designed to
allow opportunities for school and college travel.
New Yate Network ...
From 13 April we are launching a new Yate network. There are some brand
new services offering new journey opportunities while other services have
been re-numbered and improved.
These are the key points of each service:
Service 46: Bristol – Yate
Service 327 re-numbered 46 but with a slight route change.
Hourly service Monday to Saturday (including evenings) plus Sunday/Public
Holiday daytime.
Service X46: Bristol - Chipping Sodbury
Brand new service operating via M32, Winterbourne, Iron Acton and Yate
offering an express link between Bristol and Chipping Sodbury.
Service 47/N47/X47: Bristol – Chipping Sodbury
Service 342/X42 re-numbered 47/X47 with no change to route.
Increased Sunday/Public Holiday evening frequency, now hourly.
Service N50 (currently run by another operator) re-numbered N47 and provides
journeys in the early hours of Saturday and Sunday morning.
Service 81: Kingswood – Yate
New service operating every 30 minutes between Kingswood and Bristol
Parkway, plus every 60 minutes between Bristol Parkway and Yate. Service 81
replaces Service 581 run by another operator.
Service 82: Southmead Hospital – Yate
New service operating every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 120
minutes Sunday/Public Holiday.
Combined with Service 81 it offers a bus every 30 minutes between Bristol
Parkway-Yate, along with direct links to Southmead Hospital from Yate,
Frampton Cotterell and Winterbourne.
