Word of the Month: THANKFUL
Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Vaughn
Congratulations to Mrs. Vaughn for earning this month’s spotlight!
Mrs. Vaughn has been at the Oberle School for the past ten years:
three years as a teacher and the past seven as an administrator. She
obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Indiana
University of Pennsylvania and her Master’s Degree in
Administration and Supervision from Liberty University. Prior to
working at the Oberle School, Mrs. Vaughn taught in Spotsylvania
County at the middle and high school levels. Her experience there
has given her an appreciation for all that GHO offers students. Mrs.
Vaughn states, “We are able to identify students’ needs and
implement strategies to address those needs. This is not something
easily accomplished within the public school.”
Mrs. Vaughn has three teenage children who keep her busy with
sports, school activities, scouts, church, and band. For fun, Mrs.
Vaughn enjoys shopping, traveling, and watching football. As an avid
Pittsburgh Steeler fan, she looks forward to a better season next
year!
When asked why she loves working at Oberle, Mrs. Vaughn replied,
“We work with such a small group of students and are able to get to
know them on a personal level. I enjoy seeing students experience
growth and success while at the Oberle School. Success breeds
success and I believe that our program provides opportunities for
students to build upon their strengths while addressing their
weaknesses. It is incredibly rewarding to see improvements in not
only academics but in students’ self-esteem.” Thank you, Mrs.
Vaughn for all that you do to support Oberle and our students!
