Manuel Sendón
Director of Centro Estudos Fotográficos, Vigo, SPAIN
Together with X. L. Suárez Canal, he is the director of the Centro de Estudos Fotográficos (http://
www.cefvigo.com/), the Fotobienal de Vigo (1984- 2000), and the Sala dos Peiraos de Vigo (1985-1991);
they have commissioned projects such as Vigovisións (1986-2000), Madrid Mirad, 14 Artistas
Latinoamericanos (2008, travelling around 12 Latin American countries )...; and itinerant exhibitions of
Virxilio Vieitez, Fran Herbello, Manuel Ferrol.... They are the authors of a dozen monographic books of
historic Galician photographs and they edit the following collections: Álbum (Historic Galician
Photography) and Do Trinque (Contemporary Universal Photography).
In 2010 he commisioned the Costa da Morte Project. Nowadays he is currently in charge of the project
Inédito (http://ineditoant.wordpress.com), devoted to contemporary photography, which places particular
emphasis on the newly emerging photographers.
Degree in Mathematics and doctor in Fine Arts, he teaches at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Pontevedra.
