La La is a great addition to your junior level steel band: Soca 6-bass and guitar (tenor) parts are very easy to
learn quickly. Alto parts are the typical calypso strum and lead pans have the melody which is melodic but
rhythmically simple at the same time. There is an additional part which can be played by your stronger double
second (alto) or lead pannists which adds some more challenging parts and provides more contrast during

Pan in A Minor is one of the more famous pan festival pieces played at Panorama, Caribana, and Panorama USA
many times. It is a catchy, interesting arrangement which includes some challenging but attainable chromatic
runs and some great syncopated rhythms. Tenor and bass parts alternate between calypso and soca strums
giving the listener some variety in the groove. You can easily add irons, shaker, cowbell, congas, bongos and
other hand percussion to this piece to include a huge “engine room” of players. Challenging but exciting and
