Ok so just this last week we took the girls to disneyland and every time we do I
get a new marketing lesson that I can share with you.
There is a lot we can learn from a giant company earning more than $2.2BILLION
from its theme parks alone.
Now I realize that many of you do not have your sights set as high as 2.2 billion in
profit… but I think I can help you make an extra $500, $1,000, or even $10,000 a
month or more if you pay attention, keep it simple, and follow along…
You Ready… ok lets start.
Disneyland = 16,000,000 Avg Yearly Attendance
Average Daily Attendance = 41,000
Instead of focusing on the whole enchilada so to speak… lets just focus on one
“NICHE” within the disneyland theme parks… and break that down.
Notice how overwhelming it gets when you think about all the things people can
spend money on at disneyland…
Tickets to get in…
Photos of your family on rides…
Sweaters, hats, dolls, pens, pencils, light things to annoy people trying to see the
fireworks, tour guides, food, soda, water, popcorn, churros, ice cream, candy,
toys, and the list goes on and on…

I want you to notice that ALL of these items are profitable, and all of them are a
great revenue stream for the theme park, earning lots of money from the 41,000
average daily guests.
So instead of looking at all the niches as a whole as one would look at a niche say
like “weight loss” or “health” or “save money” lets take a look at one niche and
break it down…
We will start with an easy one… FOOD… Big Ole Fat Food…
At disneyland alone… according to 2013 stats (that’s the newest I can find)
In one year guests buy:
4 million hamburgers
1.6 million hot dogs
1.5 million servings of popcorn
2.8 million churros.

That is a lot of food my friends… just from one place in one city in one state…
With some rough adding based on prices I found I came up with…
$57,280,000 In Yearly Revenue… Just From These Items
This is just from the stands… not the restaurants, hotel food, or anything like
that… just stands and serve yourself food places.
That’s over $156,000 Per Day From These Stands… OR… over $3.83 Per Visitor!

This is where things start to get fun…
If we break down the niche into the sub niches… based on revenue we get… again
remember my math is pretty loose here but you will get the idea…
4 million hamburgers ($39,000,000)
1.6 million hot dogs ($10,800,000)
1.5 million servings of popcorn ($6,000,000)
2.8 million churros. ($11,200,000)

10,000 hamburgers every day @ $9 - $10 a pop.
4,400 hot dogs every day at $6.75 each
4,300 pop corn boxes every day at $4-8 each
7,600 churros every day at $4 each
Now you could break it down even further and calculate what each stand makes
per day… and remember… this doesn’t even include water, soda, tea, ect…
So if there is 5 hot dog stands… each is making about $6,000 a day just selling hot
dogs… not including drinks and whatever…
If we have 5 churro stands… each is making $6,800 per day in revenue from
churros alone… and we all know you cannot have a churro without a drink.

There are a lot of marketing lessons in play here…
1. We see the idea of niche marketing (breaking the theme park niche into
tiny little niches like “the hot dog stand in toon town” or whatever…
2. We see the idea of pairing like offers together… but not too many… ie hot
dogs, drinks, ect… but not hot dog, pizza, and mickey toys…
3. We see the idea of upsells… add a drink, get a combo, ect…
4. We see the idea of impulse buys… when someone buys something based
on seeing it once… not something they need but something they want in
the spur of the moment
5. We also see the fact that people spend a crap ton of money on things they
do not need, and pay for overpriced stuff because of the environment
So the big question is…
Why does this whole thing work… and
what drives it in the first place.
I mean its not like a guy just went out and got 10,000 hamburgers hoping
someone would buy them…
It all started with one simple thing…

41,000 RAVING FANS AS CUSTOMERS
That’s right… none of this would work without first having a traffic source that has
people willing to be somewhere for some reason.
It just so happens that disney has a lot of fans that like to come to their park.
Because of that… we can determine…
Well… if they like mickey… they probably like buying little mickeys and things
from their favorite movies…
And… if they are here all day… they are gonna get thirsty… and hungry, and want
some sugar, and some sodas, and some candy, and other stuff…
OK… lets take a break because there have been some BIG numbers here.
And lets talk about why this does not work for most people.
This does not work because the majority of people who want to “make money”
online are so focused on what they need and want that they forget about the
game that is being played…
For example… you may be in debt, you may need some cash, you may want to pay
some bills, supplement your retirement… or damn… perhaps you gotta feed the
kids… whatever it is… you are in a routine…
It’s a routine that says… I just need this much…
But this much never comes… or worse… it comes and goes faster than a knife
fight in a phone booth.

And because of all this you are focused on lack rather than abundance.
You see while people out there are crying about how bad things are, they still
spend money on needless things like cable tv, 8 dollar hot dogs, ect…
And someone is getting butt ass rich selling them to you.
Just like the dude selling hot dogs at the fair…
To you.. its just a day at the fair and one overpriced hot dog wont hurt… to them
it’s a living… a very good living… because they play the niche…

This is all from just 12 days of selling and work.
Again lets break it down…
The traffic is there… they want some food.
Key point here… they know what the niche wants… they want some damn cookies
and milk… over 3 million bucks worth in 12 days…

That is $250,000 PER DAY for 12 days… enough for anyone reading this to retire.
Lets say the profit margin is like 25% (I’m sure its more… but lets be safe) that’s
$750,000 for just 12 days…
Not to bad.
So what does this have to do with you.
1. Stop focusing on what you think, feel, buy, want… and think about the
masses when it comes to your marketing… you may not spend $50,000 on a
painting or $9 on a hot dog… but someone else will… that’s your customer,
that’s your visitor… not you…
2. Play the niches… there are people right now like the hot dog guy… but they
are online in some funny niche… like when I had a gas scooter website that
made $16,000 a month in sales from one keyword… “gas powered scooters
for cheap”… my margin was like 40%...
So first and foremost if you want to make it in this business… you need to play the
niches and get over your ideas of what will and will not work.
Every day I hear someone say… well marcus… those toolbars… ya know… they just
sit there on your internet browser and people don’t like them…
BULLSHIT… people do like them… and if I had the little mindset that they don’t
then I would have missed out on a lot of money…
But dude marcus… cant people get hosting for $3 instead of $5… yes… your right…
they can… and they can also get hot dogs for 75 cents somewhere…

But they still get it on my sites for $6.95… and its worth it. And I get paid.
No marcus… you do not understand… people are struggling… you cannot just
charge $297 for simple sites… common… ebooks and wso’s are $7…
Well yes I can… because its worth it… and It will still be worth it next week when

Why… because its about experience… people buy experience and feeling…
When someone buys a house… they have a little dream with music like the one

It’s a shopping experience…
I can get a box of cookies at home for $3 but at the fair one cookie for $6 aint bad.
You can make coffee at home for pennies… but wooo hoo starbucks has gossipy
ladies and people holding their pinkies out… and you don’t even get a mug. (sorry
folks… I hate drinking coffee in paper cups)
My friends… we are in a game… and you need to play the game you want to play.
many people play the game of lack… there is no money, money is hard, money is
tough, everythings against me…. Some people play the game of… damn at the fair
people throw money around like its going out of style…

Which side do you want to be on?
The side complaining… or the side doing.
You can be on the side that makes money… but you have to change your
mindset… you have to look at what’s going on around you… keep your eyes
open… and keep them OFF what you are feeling…
