Lines of inquiry• Life cycles • How living things change over their life time • Developmental stages of various living things Key concepts• Change • Connection The students • Discussed and identified the basic needs of living things followed by an activity sheet • read the book-The case of the missing caterpillar , discussed the life cycle of a butterfly followed by an activity • inquiry into the lifecycle of a Frog through the book “The Trouble with Tadpole” • discussed the similarities and differences between the life cycles of a butterfly and frog through a venn diagram followed by a classroom presentation • were introduced to ‘ff’ sound through a story ‘’The Three Billy Goat Gruff’’ followed by identifying words with ‘ff’ sound. Music Students • practised singing of simple ascending and descending scales in three and four note pattern • practiced previous sargam • were introduced to a new song ‘Sa se sargam gate hain’ Challenge The next spelling challenge will be on Friday, 4th October. The words for the challenge are: different, giraffe, stiff, stuff, off, my, has, have, live, give and like Suggested Activity Connect the life cycle of hen to the life cycles ( butterfly and frog) discussed in the class and illustrate your predictions.
