Growing Honeyberry In Kentucky
Honeyberries are a
rela vely new frui ng crop
for Kentucky. These
Northern honeysuckle
family members are unlike
their cousins...they are non‐
invasive, form a small bush, and produce a dark
blue berry similar to blueberries in taste. All of this,
and late frosts aren’t an issue. Join us to learn how
to grow honeyberries and take home at least two

create a beau ful display spring into summer

depth look into this fun and fascina ng group of

phlox is a rela vely large group of
plants! For this class I will
concentrate on the perennial
phlox from creeping all the way
to the tall or garden phlox, and
even the new Proven Winners “Flame Series” This
is a class you won’t want to miss! Each par cipant
will go home with 8‐10 plants, some bare root, plug

Peonies The Queens of Spring!
The Summer Garden Headliner, Hardy Hibiscus
No other perennial outlives
peonies! You can find them at
abandoned homesteads
blooming happily for years.
This is one plant that you can
fully intend to leave to your
grandchildren! In this session we will discuss how to
get peonies off to a good start, plan ng,
maintenance, and care of old plants you may
already have. We will discuss tree, herbaceous, and
intersec onal hybrids. Each par cipant will receive
one Bartzella intersec onal peony perhaps the
most sought a er peony in the world ($60.00‐
Value!!!) which is in the pictures, and at least one
herbaceous peony.
This will probably
be the only me
Bartzella will be
available in one of
my classes! If you

have growing these delicious
summer treats. In this class I will
discuss variety selec on, cultural
requirements, insect and disease control, and when
to harvest for op mum results. All par cipants will
receive melon seed to try at home including
heirloom and hybrid varie es. Register by April 1st,

Pollinator Friendly Gardening
We will take a look at growing
herbs to flavoring your
favorite dishes. Learn how to
grow, use, and store herbs for
use in the kitchen year round.
Each par cipant will also take home a variety of
small herb plants to start your own culinary herb

No doubt you have all heard of the
plight of our most famous
pollinator the honeybee. It is
responsible for pollina ng up to 1/3 of the foods we
eat! In this session we will discuss how to protect
the honeybee as well as na ve bee pollinators,
bu erflies, and moths. We will cover habitat
development, plant selec on, and more! By being
mindful of our pollinators you will reap the

These ferns aren’t hardy but
they are easy to grow and
can make even the drabbest
porch or shady area come
alive. They can be used as
houseplants in the winter
and then taken outdoors to transform any shady

We are lucky in Kentucky
that we have three dis nct
gardening seasons with the
last being fall…...but if you
want a fall garden you have
to plant in summer. In this
session we will discuss cool season vegetables for
fall, plan ng dates, cultural requirements, pest
control, harves ng, and variety selec on. Join us to
learn how to have a harvest all the way to

stereotypes of it being brutally
