Tuesday Express Newsletter #23 March 6, 2012 Flight Four Forum 5th & 6th Grade Families, We had another ten students achieve their AR goals, bringing our total to forty-three. Congratulations to Sackett Chesnik, Darien Norris, Ben O’Rourke, Ikechi Elendu, Julia Peterson, Dominic Limone, Ponco Lopez, Jesse Burns, David Lozano, and Brenden Floyd. Students have until 3:15 on Friday to make their third quarter AR goals. Tomorrow is an early release day, so students will be released at 12:40. Daylight savings time begins this weekend and so we will lose an hour Saturday night. Our TCAP testing starts next week, Tuesday-Thursday, March 13-15 and continues Tuesday-Thursday of the following week, March 20-22. Please do not schedule appointments on these dates. Please make sure your student gets a good night’s sleep before the TCAP tests and starts the day with a good breakfast. We are extremely proud of how our students have done in the past and we know that their success begins at home. We want to thank you in advance for encouraging your student to do their best. Mr. Bushta compiled a list of 6th grade students who volunteered for TCAP snacks or drinks. Those lists should have gone home Friday. Please check with your student to see if they volunteered and for what days. There are thirty 6th grade students. Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Peebles sent home volunteer forms for 5th grade snacks, but they are still waiting for more to be returned. Each of their rooms will have fifteen 5th graders. Ideal TCAP snacks include something like breakfast bars or individual snack bags (e.g., cookies, chips, or pretzels) and a juice box. Below are the highlights of what we “plan” to do over the next week.
