Dementia Awareness Week Confronting Dementia Events from 16 – 22 May 2016 Music, dance, art and storytelling – there’s still so much that we can enjoy together #DAW2016 Dementia Awareness Week is a national event that is held annually to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of dementia. For someone living with dementia, their earliest memories can be some of the most long-lasting – our programme will take you on a journey to times past and show how much we can all enjoy together. Whether it’s the experience of trying something new – from singing in a choir to creating a piece of art – or listening to live music, watching a film or sharing stories, we can all benefit from taking part. All the events are free to attend, and open to everyone – you don’t need to book in advance, just turn up on the day!
