Reclink Australia is thrilled to announce the return of the most talked about iconic event on the
community calendar ? The Reclink Community Cup, is coming to Melbourne, Adelaide,
Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart and Perth. Drawing on the song title by seminal, much loved,
internationally influential Brisbane band The Go-Betweens, this year's theme, ?Streets of
Your Town? will be celebrated by each host city with their own unique enthusiasm and style.
With humble beginnings that steadily grew to a highly successful regular event on the
Melbourne?s annual calendar, the Community Cups? achievements are now being replicated
around the country. Once again, community radio stations and local media in each state will
join together to go head to head with local musicians in what is a family friendly, entertaining
day of grassroots football and live music both on and off the field.
Kicking off on Sunday 25 June, the Melbourne leg will settle into its new home at
Collingwood?s heart of football, Victoria Park, bringing the good-vibing, winter-braving,
sports-loving punters north side to the broadcasters? home turf and making the national
theme this year absolutely fitting. This year?s lineup will be no different with the Melbourne
Reclink Community Cup hosting rock lords Spiderbait, acclaimed Melbourne trio The Peep
Tempel, hometown favourite singer/songwriter Jen Cloher, with Aussie legends Deborah
Conway and Willy Zygier and the gorgeous She Said Zed performing The Go-Betweens
classic ?Streets of Your Town?, plus for the kids Murray Wiggle and Wally Meanie?s
Bubblegum Machine.
With footy at the helm of the Cup, the event is just as renowned for its incredible bill of preshow, half time, and post match bands, with performances from some of the nation?s most
beloved artists for both the little and big kids alike. Stay tuned for each states? individual lineup announcements soon!

This year the Reclink Community Cup also welcomes a new national event sponsor

Most importantly, funds raised through the Reclink Community Cups support Reclink
Australia?s work with disadvantaged communities across Australia. From its inception back in
1993, the Melbourne event now rallies more than 10,000 avid followers who collectively raise
over $100,000 every year for the cause.
Supported by loyal volunteers, funds raised help provide programs for some of the
community?s most disadvantaged members. Reclink Australia delivers specialist sport,
recreation and arts programs for at-risk youth, people with mental illness or disability, people
experiencing homelessness and domestic violence, and those facing alcohol, gambling and
substance addictions.
So brave the cold, and get amongst it this winter, it?s sure to be a cracking day!
