Week of March 20

Lesson Plans
Week of: March 20th –March 24th, 2017
Monday
3/20/2017
Standard/Objective: 6.L.5A.1 Analyze and interpret data from observations to compare how the
structures of protists (including euglena, paramecium, and amoeba) and fungi allow them to
obtain energy and explore their environment. 6.L.5A.2 Analyze and interpret data to describe how
fungi respond to external stimuli (including temperature, light, touch, water, and gravity).
Plan for the day:
Essential Question(s): What are fungus and protists? How do protists and fungues obtain energy and
explore their environment? How do fungus respond to stimuli?
Learning Target(s): I can describe protists and fungus. I can explain how they obtain energy and
explore their environment. I can explain how fungus respond to stimuli.
1. Students will complete science first five.
2. Students will view Biology: The Science of Life: The World of Fungi
https://app.discoveryeducation.com/learn/videos/FEEB7942-7AF2-455C-B58935AA859DF4D1?hasLocalHost=false .
3. Studentes will view Investigating Protists
https://app.discoveryeducation.com/learn/videos/F2E55974-EF6B-4594-AFDB86BC97E5DEAD?hasLocalHost=false .
4. Students will complete the comprehension questions for each video.
Tuesday
3/21/2017
Homework: Study notes. Chapter 3 Quiz Tuesday, March 21st. SLO test on Wednesday, March 22
Assessment: Comprehension questions from protists and fungi videos
Integrated Technology: SmartBoard, Discovery Education
Standard/Objective: 6.L.5B.2 Analyze and interpret data to explain how the processes of
photosynthesis, respiration, and transpiration work together to meet the needs of plants. 6.L.5B.5
Analyze and interpret data to describe how plants respond to external stimuli (including temperature,
light, touch, water, and gravity).
Plan for the day:
Essential Question(s): What are the processes of plants? How do plants respond to stimuli?
Learning Target(s): I can demonstrate my knowledge of the processes of plants and how they respond
to simuli by successfully completing a Chapter 3 quiz.
1. Students will complete health first five.
2. Students will review their notes for 5 minutes before the quiz.
3. Students will complete a quiz on plant processes, tropisms, and review questions about plants.
Wednesday
3/22/2017
Homework: SLO test on Wednesday, March 22
Assessment: Chapter 3 quiz
Integrated Technology: none
Standard/Objective: All 6th grade standards
Plan for the day:
Essential Question(s): What have I learned this year about weather, atmosphere, conservation of
energy, plants, and animals?
Learning Target(s): I can demonstrate my knowledge of weather, atmosphere, conservation of ene rgy,
plants and animals by completing the SLO test to the best of my ability.
1. Students will complete the district SLO test to show what has been learned this year.
2. Students will begin completing the answers to their unit test study guide.
Thursday
