Remediation Worksheet for Retest on Photosynthesis / Cellular Respiration
ALL of the following questions must be answered COMPLETELY using COMPLETE SENTENCES, and
returned to Mrs. O to no later than Monday, November 18th @ 4:15 PM. The test retake will be offered
Tuesday 11/19 after school from 4:15-5:00 and Wednesday 11/20 before school from 8:00 – 8:45. Make
sure you work out rides to and from school, and let your extracurricular teachers and coaches know you
will be taking advantage of this opportunity. If you miss both of these dates and times….you missed the
chance to better your grade.
1. List what happens during glycolysis. Include where it happens, if it needs oxygen, how many ATP
molecules are produced and consumed, and what is formed.
2. Describe in detail what happens after glycolysis if there is oxygen present.
3. Describe in detail what happens after glycolysis is there is NO oxygen present.
4. Compare the storage capacity of ATP and glucose. How does the cell use each of these
molecules to store energy?
5. Where does the cell obtain the ATP and the glucose that it uses?
6. Identify the electron carriers of cellular respiration. Discuss in detail the relationship between
the electron carriers and the electron transport chain.
7.
Identify 3 factors that affect the rate of photosynthesis, and EXPLAIN in detail how each factor
specifically affects photosynthesis.
8. Describe in detail the experiments of van Helmont, Priestly, and Ingehousz.
9. How did the work of van Helmont, Priestly, and Ingehousz contribute to our current
understanding of photosynthesis?
10. Compare in detail the process of photosynthesis and cellular respiration. Give 2 ways they are
similar and 2 ways they are different.
11. Write the complete CHEMICAL equation for both photosynthesis and cellular respiration.
