LEO Secondary Dresscode Requirements

2016 – 2017 LEO Center Dress Requirement

All students will be given an opportunity to check out any needed clothing to meet the dress requirement.
A clothing agreement will be given to each student on his or her first day at LEO.
The Leander ISD Dress Code will be enforced at all times.
Crew Neck T-Shirt
Plain black or gray crew neck t- shirt (No collars, no buttons, no v-neck, no scoop neck) No
emblems, markings, holes, or writing on the shirt (Shirts may not be worn inside out) Long
or short sleeves (no sleeveless shirts), tucked in at all times
No more than two shirts may be worn in the classroom (Both must meet the dress requirements)
No writing or markings on the second shirt can show through the top shirt
Jeans
Blue or black colored jeans only
No more than five pockets all at the waist line (No cargo pants, no carpenter pants)
No decorations such as elaborate stitching, sequins, writing, or rhinestones
No holes in inappropriate places (Additional holes/tears/rips will be subject to approval by the LEO staff.)
Must be ankle length (No shorts, no capris, no leggings)
A second pair of pants/shorts may not be worn under the jeans
Must have belt loops (Belts will be issued to all students. The belt will be left at the student’s desk.)
Fit at the crotch and the waist. If jeans are too big and baggy the student will be required to put on and wear a pair
of LEO issued jeans or sweatpants.
Shoes
Gym, athletic shoes, or rubber soled shoes (sneakers, tennis, basketball, etc.) with closed toe and heel
No boots or other hard sole shoes, sandals, flip flops, house slippers, etc.
Matching shoelaces tied at the top of the shoe tongue
All other fasteners must be in place and fastened
Sweatshirts
Each student will be issued a sweatshirt. The sweatshirt will be left at the student’s desk.
The student may wear their own plain white or gray sweatshirt (No hoods, pockets, emblems, marking, or writing on
student owned sweatshirts.)
A plain black or gray t-shirt with sleeves must be worn under the sweatshirt
Other
Hair may not cover the eyes (Plain “bobbie” pins, or a plain white, black or gray headband or coated rubber band may be
used to hold hair.)
Students may not wear ribbons, hats of any kind, or other hair decorations
No under garments may be visible
No jewelry, arm bands, or rubber bracelets may be brought to or worn to LEO
No metal-studded clothing, belts or chains may be worn or brought to LEO With
the exception of jackets, no other clothing may be brought to LEO
Students may not display or wear any symbols or clothing that could indicate gang affiliation
Dress code consequences
1st offense – copy dress requirement 1X
4th – Cannot go through lunch line or participate in ET for 5 schooldays/Office Referral
2nd offense – copy dress requirement 2X
5th – Cannot go through lunch line or participate in ET for 10 schooldays/Office Referral
3rd offense – copy dress requirement 3X 6th- LEO day will not count/Office Referral
**Any student who does not come to LEO in dress code on their potential release day will have an additional day(s) added **
Additionally, when the administration determines a student is out of dress code the LEO Center will provide the student
with an acceptable t-shirt, sweat pants, and/or plastic/synthetic rubber shoes to wear as part of the consequences. When
the student refuses to wear the clothing provided by LEO the parent will be notified and the day will not count as a LEO day.
