Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What do I do with my vehicle?
A. We are able to leave vehicles at the Coen Information Centre on the Saturday morning. We will have a
bus that can transport participants back to their vehicles on Day 1, when 28 Mile Lagoon is reached. The
bus will also transport you back to 28 Mile on Sunday to bring your camping equipment to the Archer
River Roadhouse. A limited number of large teams will be allowed to relay using their own vehicle, but
please contact the committee on this.
Q. What if I don’t want to walk the whole way?
A. Participants will be able to hop on the bus at any stage during the walk. There will be pick-up points
along the walk and all volunteer organisers will have a UHF radio. There will also be support vehicles.
You may walk as a relay team, together or just do what you can.
Q. What do I do with my children if they get tired?
A. Children will be able to hop on the bus and we will be coordinating ‘family’ groups so parents are able
to help each other out. All children will be considered and organisers will negotiate with you prior to the
walk, who and how you will receive support.
Q. I don’t have much money. How much do I need to bring?
A. To participate comes at no cost. All Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Friday night,
Exchange Hotel, Coen will be providing dinner, free camping and breakfast. Morning tea, lunch and
afternoon tea will be provided along the walk. At 28 Mile, RFDS will be providing a BBQ supper.
Continental breakfast will be available in the morning, followed by morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
Archer River Roadhouse will be providing dinner and free camping. If you require any other snacks and
drinks, please cater for yourself. If you would like to purchase drinks on the Friday night and Sunday

yards. Individuals will need to bring own feed and are welcome to bring their own portable electric fence.
Horses will not be provided for any participant. You must bring your own.

A. There will be port-a-loos available at morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and at 28 Mile Lagoon. There
