forthe$5,000MaintenanceTrainingCooperativeScholarship,whichincludesapaidinternshipinthemining
industry.Theinternshipaveragesabout$15/hourfull-timeinthesummerpriortoenrollment,andtwodaysa
weekduringtheacademicyear.ElectricalSystemsTechnologygraduatesandstudentswithelectricalwork
experiencecanpursueanadditionalCertificateofAchievementorBachelorofAppliedSciencedegreein
InstrumentationTechnology.GraduatesoftheGreatBasinCollegetechnicalprogramshavea90percent

TheRanchoHighSchoolCulinaryDepartmentis“cookingtodayforahealthiertomorrow.”Ranchoculinary
studentsareaspicymixofambition,streetsmarts,driveandcreativityand,asadiversegroupofyoungchefs,
theyembracethemottoabove.Theprogramstartedwith120studentsand,injusttwoshortyears,hasgrown
exponentiallybyenrollingnearly400,withawaitinglistofover200.Throughonechef’svision,atraditionalstyleteachingkitchenhasbeentransformedintoastate-of-the-artcommercialmasterpiece.Coursesprovide
aculinaryenterprise,offeringcurriculumthatlaunchestoday’syoungteensintothechefsofthefuture.From
amyriadofcompetitionstorunningarestaurant/bakeryandcateringforthousands,includingstateandcity
