If you saved your copy of “The Most Dangerous Game” from class, then you already have the first 3
pages.
While reading “The Most Dangerous Game,” I want you to use the following chart to
identify how the setting(s) within a story can create a mood. For example, the first scene
takes place upon a yacht, traveling in the “blackness” of night. The author uses this setting to
create an eerie mood.
 I have used the chart below to do the following: identify the setting, cite quotes that
illustrate the setting, and then describe the mood that is created by the setting. By
following my example, I want you to fill in the chart as you read the rest of the
story. There are multiple times that the narrator describes his surroundings, so pay
close attention.
 I have attached a list of “mood words” for you to use.
 On Sunday, please bring in “The Most Dangerous Game” pdf and your
chart.
** I know some of you have had difficulty with your interviews. In the next
week or two, please complete them and hand them in. We need time to shape
them into essays.
