We use the Present Simple to talk about completed actions in the
past. Compare the following:

 Note: There are some exceptions. Sometimes we have to
modify the ending.


Many verbs in English are irregular. We don’t add ed to these
verbs. They completely change when they are in the past tense.
Here is a list of just some irregular verbs in infinitive form:
